    3. I have been told that the cemetery is in Kingwood Township, on the Locktown Road, south of Hwy 12. One of my favorite people (Elisha Rittenhouse) was buried "near Locktown at Slack's Corner" [Deats] after he died on 15 Dec 1846. This surprised me when I learned it because he superintended the construction of the Baptist Church at Locktown, and I expected him to be buried there. But he may have fallen out with the "Old Schoolers." I don't know if the HCHS has a listing of burials at Slack's Corner; if they did copy the stones, the names would be mixed in with the other names in their card file. It is not listed in the book "Hunterdon County Place Names"; however, Slacktown is listed. I am in the process of amending the referenced book with additions from the Hunterdon Gazette and if someone has the information, I'll add this one!
