Marfy I am seeking additional information on Cornelius born 1747 & Albertus Myers. Parents listed as John Johannes Myers/Miers (c. 1725 - c. 1775) and wife Catherine, also their sibblings. I noticed in one of your postings you listed (see below). I am related to Albertus & Anna Hahn/Hann Myers through another son, Peter. Any assistance you or any other interested party could supply would be greatly appreciated. Here's some of what I've got on them-- 1. Cornelius, born 1747 to John Johannes Myers/Miers of Amwell (c.1725-c.1775) and wife Catherine, and brother of Albertus Myers [see Gary's note below]. In his pension application he mentions having to come home for awhile because Tories in the neighborhood had killed his cows. 2. Cornelius, born 1768 to Sebastian Bost or Boston Myers (born abt 1730, died abt 1808 Walpack, Sussex Co.) and Elizabeth Langevelt. I don't know anything else about this Cornelius. 3. Cornelius, born 1785 to Cornelius Myers (1), I think, married Hannah French 1810, died 1843-1850 in Delaware Twp, had four daughters. 4. Cornelius, born 1796 to Albertus Myers and Anne Hann, married Rebecca Mason 1818, died March 1843. A Cornelius Myers died intestate in 1843, and I haven't been able to prove whether it was #3 or #4. Dear Marilyn, I'd like to learn more about Peter Myers. All I know is his birth date, from the family bible, and the name of his wife, Mary Young. Here is some of what I have on John Myers/Mires and his family-- John Johannes Albertus Mires was born about 1725 in Alstadt, Germany. He died about 1775. He was probably the son of Johannes Meyer of Alstadt, Germany, son of George Meyer, who married 29 Jan 1721 Anna Catharina, daughter of Nicolaus Ahrfeller in Alstadt. They had sons Johann Gerhard (bpt 14 May 1722) and Johannes Albertus (bpt 27 Jun 1727) [Jones, pg 469]. John married Catharine about 1746. Catharine was christened 1766 in Baptist Church, Kingwood, NJ. They had the following children: i. Simon Myers was born about 1745 and died 1814. His wife is not known. ii. Cornelius Myers Sr. was born 18 Jul 1747 and died about 1839. He married Elizabeth [surname not known] about 1775. She died before 1830. iii. Albertus Myers was born 26 Jun 1751 and died 22 Jan 1839. He married Anna Hann, daughter of Peter Hann and Elizabeth Hoppock, on 9 Dec 1784. Anne was born 1760 in Amwell, Hunterdon, NJ. She died 25 Nov 1841 in Delaware Twp., Hunterdon, NJ. iv. Peter Mires was born about 1758 in Amwell, Hunterdon, NJ. He died 1840 in Howards Fort, Green Co., PA. Peter married Mary Hibbs, daughter of Jacob Hibbs, in 1782. Mary was born 1762. She died 1826. v. John Myers was born Mar 1759 and died 24 Feb 1841. John married (1) Rebecca Wolverton, daughter of Daniel Wolverton and Hannah Chamberlin, on 3 Jun 1797 in Hunterdon, NJ. Rebecca was born about 1775. She died about 1805. John also married (2) Christian about 1808. Christian died 27 Dec 1849 in Kingwood, Hunterdon, NJ and was buried in Baptist Cem., Locktown, NJ. If you want some other information, give me a more specific request.
