I am writing to ask whether anyone knows of a searchable death index for New Jersey. I have written a biography of an ancestor from Lambertville, Hunterdon Co., New Jersey. I would like to complete it with the knowledge of when three of her daughters and a son-in-law died: a.. Ellen Dever Devine, b. 12 Sep 1853, d. aft 2 Jan 1920, prob. Lambertville b.. Thomas Devine, b. Oct 1846, d. aft 2 Jan 1920, prob. Lambertville c.. Mary A. 'Mamie' Dever Shannon, b. 8 Jan 1857, d. aft 8 Apr 1930, prob. Trenton d.. Anna Matilda 'Hannah' Dever Price, b. 21 Ar 1860, d. aft 2 Jan 1920, prob. Lambertville I can't narrow the death dates any further. I am reluctant to pay the NJ Dept. of Vital Statistics for such wide searches. To do so would cost me $34 in US dollars x4. Can anyone help me with this? I would welcome all advice. Thanks. Hi Mary Jo: I would suggest you search the various newspapers but that may be a little difficult. The Old Mill Hill Society had a really good list of obits in Trenton papers, but the site seems to be disabled right now. The Hopewell and Trenton papers are available (most dates) through Ancestry and also via the Hunterdon County web site you can find the Hunterdon Democrat I think it is. There's another place as well, but I'm not remembering it. Let me see what I can find out. Long time no talk, by the way, don't we have Mickey relatives in common?
