Hi Larry, The only reference to Theodore Housel(l) that was listed in the Hunterdon Gazette Newspaper Index (1825-1866) was found in the January 3, 1838 Issue. A letter was at the Lambertville Post Office for "Theodore Housel". Lambertville was probably the closest postoffice to Amwell Township at that time.No other information was found and no inferences can be made other than that someone wrote a letter to a "Theodore Housel" who was thought to get his mail at Lambertville! Regards, Bill I am now working on the Hunterdon Republican Newspaper (1856 - 1953) but have only started "locating items of interest". See: huntrepnews.com for progress. The Index for the 1800s will probably not be started until late next year since I still have about 40% of the microfilm to scan! Check back next year, perhaps there will be some news of Ted if he stays in Hunterdon and "makes the news"! -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Lawrence Housell <[email protected]> > Hi Group, > I am looking for the birth of Theodore Housell, born in 1816 , > Amwell Township, Hunterdon County. Hi Bill, I had not visited www.huntrepnews.com before. It looks like you are dong a great job with it. Kudos!! My interest in Hunterdon County at this point in my research is back in the late 1700's and early 1800's but I always enjoy any tidbits I can find on the generations that followed. Thanks for your efforts. I know it will be a help to many researchers. Carol
