    2. Not sure but has anyone else noticed the database on the rootsweb.com called flathrop or fredlathrop, he has compiled a database of all names who were in Hunterdon County, New Jersey at one time. Whether they stayed there, or were passing through to other counties. Several of my MILLS family members are also listed on that database. But have found them as actual residents of Morris County, and Essex County, now Union County. And that they did not stay there either, but found them as buried in other places, not New Jersey. Pat cw Notes from Kaye Larsen re her family. This little tidbit from Warren County, NJ GEN WEB site: Warren County was originally part of West Jersey. It was included in Hunterdon when that county was erected in 1713/14 remained a part of it till Morris was set off in 1738/39. It was part of the territory of Sussex County when that county was erected in 1753 and so remained till the Legislature enactment of November 20, 1824, made a separate county of it. So if you cannot find your ancestor of interest, possibly check out adjacent counties. From very early settlers, to late century ones. In that Hunterdon County, was made from other larger counties. As well as part of Hunterdon was also annexed to other surrounding ones. In that our ancestors themselves, did not physically remove themselves. The land, their farms, etc, orchards, etc. So you have records of them in Hunterdon county, but in fact, at one time, could have been Morris, Sussex or Essex or Union counties. Just depended on how the lines were changed around them. In a message dated 5/3/2008 8:46:43 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: Just curious. Which SUTTON family member?
