Here is what it says: Luther Calvin, born Hunterdon County NJ 1747; married ca 1768 Priscilla LeForge (LeFarge); moved to the Romney region, Hampshire Co VA, on the "south branch of the Potomac River: where their first child was born in 1769; later moved to western PA to Fallowfield Twp, Washington Co PA. That this was Captain Luther Calvin of Mason County KY, is shown by statements of Mrs. Sarah (Conrey) Riley, Luther Calvin's granddaughter; and also by statements of Perry Calvin, Luther Calvin's grandson (Draper Collection), both of whom declared their "grandfather, before coming to Mason County KY, lived on the Redstone or Monongahela in western Pennsylvania" and by the further facts that there is no record of Luther Calvin in Washington County PA after 1783, and "that Captain Luther Calvin came to Mason County early in 1785." Luther Calvin signed the Petition for the dividion of Mason County from Bourbon County, 8-25-1786. (see "History of Maysville & Mason County" by Glenn Clift, page 55).
