Since there is so much wisdom in the room tonight, I will ask for help with my most pressing challenge. Jonathan Hunter Rake and Adaline Godown were married 20 June 1826 in Hunterdon Co., NJ I have determined they had 4 children (at least): Jacob Fox Rake 9 Feb 1826 Sarah Adaline Rake 1828 Jonathan Hunter Rake 18 Sep 1830 Susan E. Rake 4 Apr 1841 I have not determined who Adaline's parents are. HOWEVER, a couple days ago, I found something on the internet at the Godown site that caught my eye: Marriage Records, Hunterdon County New Jersey (1795-1875). According to the book Adeline Godown and Jonathan Rake were married June 26,1826, 2-295 (Wilson,J.P.). J.P. meaning justice of the peace. The numbers following the date are the volume and page number of the original record. This may be a long shot but there is only one marriage listed early enough to be Adeline's parents. Godown,Thomas and Eve Fox, January 4,1801 1-43 (Lambert,Esq.). I thought it was a long shot "guess" until I remembered Jacob's middle name. If anyone has ideas or information on this, please let me know. I'd like to think I've finally made some progress on this one! THANK YOU!
