    3. Hi Louise, Would you please be more specific in your reference? I could only find one mention of "Shannock" in 1845 and it was in a "for sale" item on page 72 under a date of Oct. 22, 1845. I also ran "meeting house" with no bites and "meeting" which got a bunch of hits but none associated with a death! Perhaps the year is not correct? Please recheck the date and let me know and I'll see if I can help. The word "Shannock" is associated with "Neshanic" in the Hunterdon County Place Names book that is on CD #4. See page 30. But that links the 2 words in reference to the Neshanic River. The town of Neshanic is a few miles due East of Flemington and is located in Somerset County. Unless someone else knows more about it than I, we might presume that "Shannock Meeting House" could be the Neshanic Meeting House! Anyone out there know more about this? It is listed as the location of death in an obituary in 1845 in the Hunterdon Gazette. The only one I come up with when I "google" is in Virginia. Wouldn't the newspaper have added the state of Virginia to the location if it were not local? Thanks for any help.
