If my theories are correct, the John Garrison who d. in Hope Township, Warren Co. in 1854 was a descendant of the John Garrison of Amwell Township, Hunterdon Co., NJ who was the brother-in-law of Duncan Oliphant. I had not noticed the potential association with Governor Reading! So... why would John & Rachel (-----) Garrison have been buried in the SWAYZE Family Burying Ground? A John GARRISON was his brother - in - law to Mr. OLIPHANT. Probably is the Gov John READING before he was elected Govenour of New Jersey. His dates are 1686 - 1767.
