Found one connection between the GARRISON - READING surnames, by way of Duncan OLIPHANT, his will of Feb 1732, Proved August 1734. Mentions friend John READING, trustee. dated 1734. A John GARRISON was his brother - in - law to Mr. OLIPHANT. Probably is the Gov John READING before he was elected Govenour of New Jersey. His dates are 1686 - 1767.
