In briefly looking on the _www.familysearch.org_ (http://www.familysearch.org) it does show a Jonathan PETTIT, of NJ, who dies in Bucks Co, PA, after the dates of your listing. And others of that same family are found in Grimsby, ONT CAN. So it might be that it is a related family of your PETTIT who were associated with Richard LONDON, in 1742. Pacific Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Kimberly, I have a record of a Jonathan Pettit in what is now Warren County, 1759: Sussex County, New Jersey Will Record Index shows an inventory for John Fine (Fein) of Greenwich on February 24, 1759. Administrators of his estate were recorded on May 2, 1759: Elisabeth Fain (signed in German) and Jonathan Pettit. The Fine families lived in Greenwich Township, now Warren - then Sussex County. Greenwich Township is near the "new" church in Phillipsburg and near Finesville. We viewed microfilm of the original court records concerning disposition of the estate of John Fine. The original documents show the deceased was Johannes Fein and the widow, administrator was Elisabetha Fein. Elisabetha signed her name in German Script. Gottfried Molich was to be co-administrator. His name was crossed out and Jonathan Pettit substituted. Jonathan Pettit was likely a friend who could speak English and deal with the government.
