    1. [NJHUNTER] Marriage record

    3. Thank you all for the information and suggestions. Also the lovely compliment. If I remember correctly didn't the Lori-lie (or some spelling) lure ships onto the cliffs where they'd crash? Something I'm, thankfully, not known to do. 'smiling' The record I'm looking for is for Frances Jewett and John Doyle, July 1855. I tried your suggestions, ancestry and the marriage records book online at Internet Archives, but no luck. Familysearch had basic information, but no place of birth. Do you know if the originals in Hunterdon would list that? I would appreciate it if someone look in the revised copy of the marriage records book to see if it is there.

    3. Can you tell me if there is any mention of the Jung or Young in the book? My family appears to be one of the Elders in the German Reform Church in Hunterdon County before moving into PA. Cathy Young Aggergaard

    3. Thank you, Susan... very nice of you to check so thoroughly. It's really odd that I cannot find a marriage record for my Gt-Gt-Grandparents. They are both mentioned in the Op Dyck Genealogy book...and I found property transactions as well. They lived on Tunnel Avenue at one time, and then owned/operated the Still Valley Inn out near Straw Church in the 1860's. -Rita On Feb 20, 2012, at 7:33 PM, Susan Pena wrote: > I looked at 3 different sections of the 1986 book and did not find these > names. I have the book, The Revised Printing of "Hunterdon County Marriages 1795-1875," Vol. 1 by Hiram Deats, 1986 if you tell me one or both of the names, they just might be in this book. 3. >From the Easton Express Times: http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/breaking-news/index.ssf/2012/02/pennsylvania_agencies_make_bir.html Pennsylvania state agencies are offering expanded public access to birth and death records under a law enacted in December. The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and the Department of Health said today new policies take effect this week that provide access online or at the state archives in Harrisburg. The new policy makes birth certificates available 105 years after they're issued, and death certificates 50 years after they're signed. As of Wednesday, births from 1906 and deaths from 1906 to 1961 will be made public. Before 1906, they're kept by counties. The plan is to make additional years available on a rolling basis. Researchers should know the spelling of the name, the year of the death or birth, and the county. More flexible searches are being developed.

    3. I have no info on the family of John Matthias (Hontice) CASE & Christianna TRIMMER but I did find this from "More Palatine Families" by Henry Z. Jones, Jr in 1991 ... BEGIN Anthonius (Thonges) Kas and his wife Eva Catharina appear in the Ruckeroth registers 1722 - 1728. He may have been the Anton Kelsch who sp. Willem Hein at Rareton in 1733/34, unless this story refers to the Tonges Kolsch who was father-in-law to Harbert Hommer/Hummer (N.Y. City Luth. Chbk.). Tunis and Peter Case were nat. 20 Aug 1755 (N.J. Nats.). The cemtery at Larison's Corner notes the burial of Tunis Kaes, who d. 4 Nov 1772. The will of Anthony Case of Amwell Twp. was dated 20 May 1769, naming his wife Eva Catharine and his ch. and some grandch.; it was proved 11 Dec 1772 (Hunterdon Co. Will #843J). The ch. of Anthonius Kaes and his wife Eva Catharina were: 1. Anna Christina, bpt. 25 May 1772 (Ruckeroth Chbk.). 2. Johann Peter, bpt. 23 April 1724 (Ruthreroth Chbk.). He was nat. in 1755 with his father. The will of Peter Case of Amwell Twp. was dated 13 March 1779 and proved 29 June 1789, naming his wife Anna and his ch. (Hunterdon Co. Will #1457J). 3. Anna Elisabetha, bpt. 9 Dec 1725 (Ruckeroth Chbk.). She md. Francis Bason (Beson/Pozon/Pysong) (Will). 4. "A Son", bpt. 1 Feb 1728 - sp.: Theiss Rubb from Geelerth (?). Johannes Kaes from Steinebach, and Anna Christina - d/o Conrad Faust at Langebaum (sic) (Ruckeroth Chbk.); due to the male bpt. sp., this son was probably the Johann Mathias named in his father's 1769 will. Matthias Kase was nat. in 1754 (N.J. Nats.). 5. Johannes (Will), probably the Johannes Kase nat. with Matthias Kase in 1754. 6. Jacob (Will). One of that name d. intestate in Amwell and was administered 14 Oct 1774; Catharina Case, presumably his wife, refused to be aministrator (Hunterdon Co. Estate #909J). 7. Johann Adam (Will). 8. Anna Maria (Will), md. (1st) Johannes Jager and then (2nd) Conrad Hummer (Will). 9. Catharina (Will), md. Herbert Trimmer (Will). END The following is everything I have on William Henry CASE/Anna Eva COOL and Samuel H CASE/Jane B WALDRON. As you can see most everything came from you. If you have anything additional let me know. I have additional info on the parents of Anna Eva COOL if you're interested. BEGIN 32.26 Anna Eva Cool Father - 84.11 Philip Cool Mother - Eva Hummer All of the following is from Rich Fisher <fishgenes@sbcglobal.net> (including the children). Rich notes that this info is found in the Fall 1975 Hunterdon Historical Newsletter in an article called Early Settlers of Hunterdon County: The Hummer Family. Anna was born in 1771 and died on May 11, 1856. She married William Henry Case who was born in 1770 and died on February 27, 1835. Both are buried in Larison's Corner Cemetery, Amwell Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. According to Gladys Royer, 25457 C.R. 32, Goshen, Indiana 46526 <royerg@juno.com> Anna was born on May 23 in either 1763 or 1771 in Hunterdon County. Children: i. Samuel H., married Jane B. 3. Marshall. my notes on Samuel CASE and Frances Adelaide LAKE were that they did not have any children. He was a servant at Smith Cronce's  (his brother-in-law) in 1880 Raritan Twp., Census. I have not been able to prove the parents of William Henry CASE (1770-2/27/1835), but my best guess is John Matthias (Hontice) CASE (abt 1727-12/5/1799) and Christianna Trimmer (abt 1732-1830). Some trees on Rootsweb indicate this and the following makes it a good possibility. 2/9/1831 Hunterdon Gazette Commissioners' Sale. In pursuance of an order of the Orphan's Court of the county of Hunterdon,WILL BE SOLD,AT PUBLIC VENDUE,On Saturday the 16th day of April next, on the premises,A LOT OF LAND,situate in the township of Amwell, within a short distance of Flemington, adjoining lands of William H. CASE and others, containing 26 acres of land, with a dwelling house & barn, and a milk house, and a never-failing spring of water near the door, with fruit of different kinds - it being the same of which Hontice CASE, late of the township of Amwell died seized.  Sale to commence at ten o'clock on said Day, when conditions of sale will be made known, and attendance given by   George TRIMMER,   Holcombe DILTS,   Joseph OPDYCKE, Comm'rs.  I have additional information on William Henry CASE/Anna Eva COOL and Samuel H CASE/Jane B WALDRON, but I do not believe that it is anything new. More than willing to share though if I didn't before. Let me know. I would love to hear from others with any knowledge of these CASE's. ________________________________ From: Marshall Lake <mlake@mlake.net> To: njhunter@rootsweb.com Cc: fish fisher <fishgenes@sbcglobal.net> Sent: Sun, February 12, 2012 7:47:45 PM Subject: Re: [NJHUNTER] Unknown LAKEs, NJ (& CASE, COOL & WALDRON) Thanks for the info Rich.  It helps. 3. Hi Marfy, WOW! As always, you come through with a bonanza of information. I'll have to mull this one over to see what if anything I will add to the abstract which will appear in the 1894 issue of the Republican newspaper! Perhaps, I'll add all of it with your permission. 3. For cosmetic purposes in writing the abstracts for the Hunterdon Republican newspaper - I would like to know the exact location of the Higgins School , various cited as Higgin's School; Higgins' School and the Higgins School District. It was not listed in "Hunterdon Place Names" and Google wasn't any help unless I asked the wrong question! It has been noted to be in Raritan Township near Copper Hill and possibly in Delaware Township on the road from "Higgins School to Sand Brook. " Mrs. Mary S.
