Drake The extract below taken from the docket (1802... 1808) of Robert Beavers, Esq., a Justice of the Peace, provides the long sought clue to the origin of the Colonel Joseph Beavers, Revolutionary Soldier, and his brother Robert (the justice in whose book the entry appears). After finding this record in the original docket on file in the Sussex County Court House at Newton, NJ, the present contributor forwarded a copy to Harold A. Thank you for your response, Norma. I don't know of your Jacob Fisher Prall. As far as Sutphin is concerned, maybe you knew my grandmother, Annie Sutphin Kuhl, who was the librarian in Flemington for 25 years in the 1940's and 1950's. Would you mind sending me your email address so I could tell you of my other family lines? I have some "brick walls" especially for Fulper and Baldwin names. Dear List Members! I have noticed LOTS of people on this list not re-titling their e-mails in their subject line to reflect what their e-mail is about. PLEASE re-title your e-mail so it pertains to what you are saying instead of just pushing "reply" and using an old title. Not adding your own title either causes people NOT to read something that maybe they woudl have been interested in, or causes them to have to sort through unnecessary e-mails that don't pertain to them! There are lots of interesting things on this list, but when you belong to several, it really helps if you can weed through by the Subject Line! Thanks! Valerie
Laurence and Sondra, I have communicated with both of you before about Sarah Lentz/Lantz Spencer who married Thomas Beavers in Loudoun County, VA in 1798. Her father is said to be John Spencer of Loudoun County. I have been looking at the names of their children to see about a possible german connection. I just don't see it. They both have records of making contributions to support the American Revolution. Thomas is not the man who is listed as dying in Wilson County, TN. That is another Thomas Beavers who had a gr-grandfather b. in Germany in 1695. If these families connect, I don't see it. In the NJ Genealogies Book there is a reference to a Beavers family from Sussex County, NJ that was related to one in Loudoun County, VA. I looked at Matthew/Mathias Beaver and also Isaak/Isaac Beaver...they just don't fit with the William Beavers in Loudoun County, VA--at least as far as I can see. Obviously, we should be open to any possiblities, but this is hard one. Judy Arthur
There is no Killgore information in the book Some Records of Hunterdon County.
I believe a group of Bodines moved to N. Virginia. My Bodines moved on to the mid-west so I have not researched them in Virginia. Also one of the Duckworths moved to Fredericksburg, VA. My line stayed in NJ and the daughter moved to NY and then OH.
