    3. It would be a very great loss, indeed, if we no longer have that HCD resource and I appreciate your pursuing the matter. If Dennis is unable to find the time to support the site, do you think it can be moved to a Rootsweb-supported site to ensure (I would assume) greater longevity and access? 3. Kay and all, I know that Dennis's website is not available and his latest email address no longer works. A few months ago we had a discussion about when Dennis might have an opportunity to continue the work on his website as it is a valuable resource. After some discussion, Dennis did send an email saying his real job was making significant demands on this time but he hoped to be able to get back to the HCD. He also said that his job kept him traveling alot. I have not removed the link from the website as I hope he will be able to get his site up again. It would appear that his Comcast account has been closed or suspended as neither his website or email work. I hope that his site can be restored. I did download the various webpages and saved them the last time Dennis's site went off line. If Dennis is unable to put his site back up, I will try to make the pages available. Nor is it possible to link to Dennis' web-site from any other web-site that contains a link to his work. It is not working because Dennis Sutton's web-site has vanished into thin air. I have tried emailing Dennis and writing a snail-mail letter, I have contacted various Sutton organizations and Sutton researchers and no one is able to explain what happened. The site has been down for a month now, maybe slightly longer. My computer was down for about 9 or 10 days late in February and when I got it back and went to check something out of the extracts---the site was no longer up. Do you have contact information for him? The latest email that I had (he wrote to the rootsweb group a couple of months ago) was jerseyite@comcast.net. 3. I have a Robert Greene who was father to Isaac Greene b. March 5, 1734/35 in Hunterdon co., NJ. He was married to Mary Paxson, b. January 25, 1734/35 near Piscataway, NJ. They had 8 children: John, Abigail, Alice, Mary, Robert, Reuben, Lydia and Susannah. The family relocated to Grayson co., Virginia. I don't know the names of Isaac's siblings, but the family Bible from the mid 1800's had Isaac's father's name as Robert and his mother as Mary. And Robert's father was listed as William, but his mother was listed as Elizabeth. Both were said to have been born in England. Perhaps this could be the same family. The plantation on Scotts Hill to be rented. Daughter Elizabeth Green 40 pounds when 18. Daughter, Mary Green 40 pounds. Daughter, Jean Green, 40 pounds when 18. Daughter Lydia Green, 45 pounds when 18. When Lydia comes of age the plantation ont he hill to be sold. Executrix--wife, Eve. Witnesses--Alexander White, John Maxwell, Andrew Yong. Proved Nov. 26, 1766 1766. Oct 9. Inventory, 258.16 pounds made by John Maxwell and Alexander White We believe that there are two more sons, Robert and William Green. We believe that Eve is Eveah Woolever. We believe that Elizabeth Green, the daughter mentioned above, may have married John Robins/Robbins and lived in Amwell, Hunterdon County. The reason we think this is the age and time of all of the information above and the names mentioned in the John Robins/Robbins & Elizabeth marriage and the similarity of names that are in the will of John Robins/Robbins. Does anyone know anything about this family? Thank you, Judy Arthur

    3. Possibly Samuel Green who married Sarah Bull is in this family. Samuel had a daughter named Margaret Green (1711-1775) who married John Opdycke. They were from Amwell Twp., Headquarters, Hunterdon Co., NJ. Possibly Margaret was also a sister of Thomas or maybe a first cousin. Probably being from the same general area at that time there is some family relation here. 3. Hi Jan, I believe that Abraham was his brother as well as Leonard. It is also very possible that her had other siblings. The Abraham that I believe is his brother married Hannah Swallow and his son is Albert as you mentioned. Lafayette is one of the eight children of Samuel & Lucinda. He never married and lived with them most of the time until their deaths. I thought that the record of the marriage of any of the three that I believe to be brothers (and I think there are others I haven't been able to confirm yet) might give me more information about their parents. The record of death of Peter Davenport or Ann Cole Davenport would help. Since these events seem to have happened before 1848 there are no records in the state archives. That is why I am looking for the old church records. Thanks for your help. 3. I don't know of anything online, but Borders and Barnes & Noble have available the present day county map books put out by Arrow and also Hagstrom, and they are excellent. They are of course modern but have all the cemeteries marked and, using them, I have a feeling not all that much has changed since the early days. I know that Samuel DAVENPORT and Lucinda MYERS were married in January 1840 by Rev. George Hitchens who I believe ministered at the Methodist Episcopal Church of Quakertown. Samuel & Lucinda Davenport are my great grandparents. They are also buried in Quakertown. > > Since most, if not all, their lives were spent in that area I would like to locate church records from that time period. Any baptisms, deaths, and marriages of Davenports or Myers may give me one little piece of information that could lead to a crack in my brick wall. > > Samuel Davenport's parents are Peter Davenport & Ann COLE. That's all I know about them so I am also looking for any other information to continue my search. > > Does anyone know if these early church records are available? and if so, where? and how? > > ______________________________
