    3. By the way, anyone interested, there is a re-enactment for the Battle of Springfield this weekend. for more info: http://www.springfieldbattle.com/ I know that my Hunterdon ancestors were - at the very least - present at some point between the Battle of Connecticut Farms (June 5) and the Battle of Springfield (June 23). __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 3. Off the top of my head... Nancy (Lomerson) Hope, also known as Anna Hope was born around 1805 and died in 1882. She is buried at the Sandy Ridge Cemetery. She married Adam Hope (1805-1852), son of Samuel Hope and Rebecca Compton. Nancy's parents were Conrad Lomerson and Elisabeth Hoffman. Elizabeth was the daughter of John Hoffman and Elizabeth Young. Conrad died sometime in the 1830s. Adam and Nancy Hope had the following children: Rebecca, Lydia, Runyon, Anna, John, Christiana, Margaret, Lavinia and Abraham. You can find some more info on rootsweb, I shared my info with another member of this list and she has posted it there - we share Nancy Lomerson and Adam Hope's daughter Christiana as a common ancestor. I have additional information at home, but that computer has had its share of problems and is in the process of hopefully becoming fixed. I have other Lomerson information, but none of it is really tied into each other. It's just a whole bunch of loose threads. I think I need to head to the Hunt. Co. Hist. Soc. to go through some deeds, among other things, to help sort some of this mess out. The Lommersons/Lamerson are one branch I have not devoted significant time to. I believe most of my Lomerson info is based on Early Germans and perhaps another similar resource. As I said, I need to do more myself. I would like to exchange information in the future, please hold onto my e-mail address, and I will do the same. Donna Lamerson <dlamerson@hvc.rr.com> wrote: Yes - the John Lamerson that married Hulda Emmons was my husband's ggg grandfather, I have sort of traced the family, but can't verify everything. I think Conrad, (Nancy) - Conrad (Esther,) Jacob (Charity), John - is the way the family is goes. I don't anything about Nancy - aka Lamerson Hope; I have never heard that name - can you give me some details? 3. Hi All I'm glad you spotted the Genealogical Society of New Jersey's online index to the Bible and Family Records Collections! Our webmaster and volunteers have been busy getting that up and running. (Thanks Michelle!) They began with the most recent bible records first (starting with 3900.) The search engine is new on our website also. Our webmaster and volunteers have also been working on adding finding aids for our other collections to the website, as well. So, if you haven't checked it out recently - you might want to give it a shot. The easiest way into our website is www.gsnj.org I'm sure there are plans to work backward to add the earlier Bible and Family Records index to the website. In the meantime, however, you can contact the Society at PO Box 1291, New Brunswick NJ 08903 if you want to ask if we have other specific families mentioned in this record collection. Thanks again and happy hunting! Regards, Joan Joan M. Lowry Genealogical Society of New Jersey mailto:jml-gsnj@earthlink.net website: www.gsnj.org

    2. Hi Mary Jane, The staff and volunteers at the Marx History room at Easton Area Public Library, Easton Pa. have posted indexes to all the obits that appeared in the Easton Express newspaper for the years 1920-2004. In addition, after you have checked the indexes and found that an obituary for a relative does exist, you may send a request form in and they will, for a fee, mail you a copy or copies of the obituary(ies). To access this index go to: _www.eastonpl.org_ (http://www.eastonpl.org) On the left hand side of the home page, you will see a link to "local history", click on this and it will take you to the Marx Room page. Scroll down and you will see a link to the obits in big, bold, letters. Many Hunterdon Co. residents had their obits published int he Easton paper during this time period. Happy hunting. Kay Larsen

    3. Have any ENT researchers looked at the Vineland Historical Magazine, vol. 14, no. 2 [4] (Oct 1929)? Apparently there’s a brief article on the Ent-Hensel families, including a John Teobald ENT (b. ca. 1710). What is known of John Teobald ENT? What does this article contain on the family? My interest is Esther ENT (1757-24 Jun 1846) who married Daniel BUTTERFOSS (1742-5 Dec 1818). At present Esther is fatherless. I’m looking for other ENT males, contemporary with Valentine ENT (whose children seem reasonably well established), who could have been Esther’s father. Or is it possible Esther was a daughter of Valentine? It is provocative that a Valentine Ent BUTTERFOSS was a son of Daniel BUTTERFOSS and Esther. The archives of the Hunterdon List provide some Ent data, but mainly on Valentine’s line.
