    3. Hi, I checked my marriage records by Deats and no such listing, but I checked "More Records of Old Hunterdon County, Vol. I, page 85 and found the following: ""Guardianships of Minors and Lunatics 1794-1827" "Carrell, John A., Sarah, James, Samuel and Daniel (-14), children of Daniel Carrell dec'd. Guardian: mother, Elizabeth Carrel who married Elisha Warford, the surety, by 6 Feb. 1834. Guardian appointed 27 Oct. 1819. 3. Sure, if you wouldn't mind doing that, I'd be happy to have more on Daniel Bray. I didn't know that he was in the Battle at Monmouth--I recently learned that the farm where the battle took place was the residence of a Bowne family and Mr. Bowne was a son of Daniel Bray's Grandmother Anne Seabrook Bowne Bray by her first marriage. Mrs. Bowne and (as I recall) seven children hid out in the woods for two days during the battle and came home to find the farmstead in ruins but her husband was unhurt. ----- Original Message ----- From: "john newman" <johnfnewman@yahoo.com> To: <NJHUNTER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 23, 2005 5:06 PM Subject: [NJHUNTER] Daniel Bray > The Sons of the Revolution celebrated Daniel Bray two years ago at the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead where he was inducted into the H.J. 3. John LeQuear's Book Traditions of Hunterdon has an account of how Daniel Bray would tell where he conficated the boats from (some from Loyalist sympathizers along the river), in that little flotilla. Daniel's Uncle Andrew (my ancestor) fought in the Battle of Trenton with a son and a grandson ; all three came through it intact. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Sherman" <dasherman@comcast.net> To: <NJHUNTER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 22, 2005 10:13 PM Subject: Re: [NJHUNTER] Duckworth/Bellesfelt > Found it interesting that Daniel Bray was in charge of assembling boats for > Geo. 1. Re: [NJHUNTER] Newtown to Hunterdon
    2. Many of my ancestors came down from Newtown Long Island to Maidenhead and Hopewell area, Hunterdon Co. NJ as well - I 've always heard that there is a book called the "Annals of Newtown" but I've never seen it....it would obviously not go into Hunterdon Co. and those that came here but it is supposed to have quite a bit on the major families of Newtown. I've often wondered what the initial reason was for so many of the Newtown residents coming to Maidenhead NJ - possibly it was just following their neighbors and friends..... my most notable families who made this transition were the Phillips and Hunt families. 3. In Deats’ Marriage Records of Hunterdon County, New Jersey 1795-1875, over 110 Wilson marriages are recorded. Has anyone tried to sort these people out. Has anyone done Wilson research in the East Amwell area? Any suggestions? Thank you. David -- http://www.fastmail.fm - And now for something completely different…

    3. The Sons of the Revolution celebrated Daniel Bray two years ago at the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead where he was inducted into the H.J. "Farmers Hall of Fame." A S.R. chapter is also named after him. http://www.srnj.org/DanielBray.htm If anyone is interested, I can re-copy the items about Daniel Bray from our newsletter. mcalaman <mcalaman@penn.com> wrote: John LeQuear's Book Traditions of Hunterdon has an account of how Daniel Bray would tell where he conficated the boats from (some from Loyalist sympathizers along the river), in that little flotilla. Daniel's Uncle Andrew (my ancestor) fought in the Battle of Trenton with a son and a grandson ; all three came through it intact. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Sherman" To: Sent: Wednesday, June 22, 2005 10:13 PM Subject: Re: [NJHUNTER] Duckworth/Bellesfelt > Found it interesting that Daniel Bray was in charge of assembling boats for > Geo. 3. Dear Norma, I was very interested In your message regarding the William Shepherd family. Could you please identify where this "Independence graveyard" is located? And I would be most interested to know who it was who took care of the Shepherds when they lived in Sand Brook. And the maiden name of William Shepherd's wife Elizabeth Ann, and any information on how Peggs married into the Shepherd family. I find that in 1844, William Shepherd bought the farm of Simon Mires dec'd from Samuel Buchanan (Deed 83-006]), which puts him in my neighborhood. Thanks for anything you can share. 3. Pat, Do you have any DeWitts mar. to Baldwins. Always wondered why my grandmother named my uncle, her son Frank DeWitt Baldwin. Then again why my father named John Swartz Baldwin. Remains another mystery. That German valley was not that big so gotta be connections there somewhere. 1. Re: [NJHUNTER] An Apology in Advance
    2. The Hunterdon County Courthouse in Flemington, NJ - Probate Court has a huge room of Archived files - depends on how far back you are going - pre-1814 or so when Mercer Co. split off from Hunterdon these records would probably be in the Mercer Co. courthouse......... Definitely the NJ State Archives in Trenton would have the older - back to 1682 even land records - this is where I found my ancestors Deed in 1682 with the West Jersey Proprietors Susan Gall formerly of Flemington, NJ, Hunterdon Co. - I'll be up there as well from July 2-10th from NC - last trip home to close out Mom's estate/sell the house etc. On Wed, 22 Jun 2005 15:18:08 -0400 "David Hoffman" <dvh592341@fastmail.fm> writes: > > Please forgive what will seem to be a bombardment of the list with > queries today and tomorrow.
