    3. Marfy, Thank you for letting me know that you have posted part 2. Both parts are really well done and interesting. You've provided a great service to many people and although none of my folks are included in the history it is an interesting historical overview of the area. 2. Alberta, I know this is a long shot, but.... I saw your post to Marfy on the NJHUNTER LIST. In researching my Williamsons (William Williamson, son of William the elder and Patience HULL) that moved to Hampshire Co. VA from Hunterdon Co, NJ, I ran across several instances-land deeds mostly-that had the names William Williamson and Richard Taylor as owning lands together. Or one selling to the other. Do you know of any Richard Taylor that may have moved to VA from NJ? 3. While in Trenton,NJ some years ago, I visited the Flemington Baptist church cemetery and located my great grandfather, Robert Updike Kelly burial site. Next to him were Cornelius Nevius and his wife, Agnes Whiteneck, Parents of Ellen Schenck Nevius, Roberts wife..There were other members of the family, Voorhees and other I didn't recognize at the time. The church stated they don't have burial records. Does anyone know if this cemetery has been surveyed and what records exist and where. I suspect there are more members of the Kelly ,Nevius , Schenck and Updike,Opdyke line there.I live in St. George, Utah, a long way from Flemington.Leon

    3. I am writing to ask whether anyone knows of a searchable death index for New Jersey. I have written a biography of an ancestor from Lambertville, Hunterdon Co., New Jersey. I would like to complete it with the knowledge of when three of her daughters and a son-in-law died: a.. Ellen Dever Devine, b. 12 Sep 1853, d. aft 2 Jan 1920, prob. Lambertville b.. Thomas Devine, b. Oct 1846, d. aft 2 Jan 1920, prob. Lambertville c.. Mary A. 'Mamie' Dever Shannon, b. 8 Jan 1857, d. aft 8 Apr 1930, prob. Trenton d.. Anna Matilda 'Hannah' Dever Price, b. 21 Ar 1860, d. aft 2 Jan 1920, prob. Lambertville I can't narrow the death dates any further. I am reluctant to pay the NJ Dept. of Vital Statistics for such wide searches. To do so would cost me $34 in US dollars x4. Can anyone help me with this? I would welcome all advice. Thanks. 3. Hi Mary Jo I found the site I used to get to via the Old Mill Hill Society See http://www.trentonhistory.org/Obits.htm -- which is directly onto the obits page Go down the page, there's more than the LDS microfilm numbers. For the heck of it I clicked on 1927 and found -- Mary Ann SHANNON in paper 04/03/1927 (Lawrenceville NJ) I didn't search any other years. The historical society will apparently copy obits. Whole site is very interesting. Try also the city directories especially. Good luck, Phyllis Mary Jo C. 3. Hi Mary Jo: I would suggest you search the various newspapers but that may be a little difficult. The Old Mill Hill Society had a really good list of obits in Trenton papers, but the site seems to be disabled right now. The Hopewell and Trenton papers are available (most dates) through Ancestry and also via the Hunterdon County web site you can find the Hunterdon Democrat I think it is. There's another place as well, but I'm not remembering it. Let me see what I can find out. Long time no talk, by the way, don't we have Mickey relatives in common? My mother's side of the family (her mother's family) is ALL New Jersey and mostly Hunterdon and Mercer county. More soon. Cheers, Phyllis Mary Jo C. 2. I've tried sending the information below, and have yet to get confirmation that it was broadcasted. I am sorry if this is a repeat. Diane Mahoney, Baltimore, MD I am new to your list, and a descendant of Henry T. and Leah Morgan Snook of Amwell, Hunterdon Co., NJ . Henry was s/o Andrew & Anne Tidd Snook and Leah was the d/o Elisha & Sarah Brown Morgan (See below). Elisha & Sarah Morgan & family migrated to Fairfield, Butler Co, OH, and built a mansion & plantation which has recently been made a National Historical Site. I am going to be giving a presentation on Elisha Morgan in Fairfield in the Spring, and would like to find out more information on his ancestors & descendants in NJ. Does anyone have connections w/ the Baldwin, Brown, Higgins, Labaw, or Prudden. Additionally, I am trying to prove what Henry Snook's heritage is. I know who his father was - Andrew Snook - but not his Snook grandfather. I have an interest in land and deed records for late 18th and early 19th centuries, so that I can find these people. I understand that the records offices are closed on weekends, so it's not likely that I can get up there to research. What would be the best way to locate an land record index, and then later order the land records? How would I find out who the bordering neighbors were? 3. Dan, Just read your offer to "look up" and wonder if I could impose on you to see if any Mumford citations (1700's) are included in your copy of "Some Records of Old Hunterdon County." Thanks for you response. 2. Am curious about "Barefoot" SMITH. Is this a nickname, or his actual given name? Like John ROCK SMITH, etc. Of the other SMITH families listed on rootsweb.com, etc. does anyone know if the Joseph SMITH mentioned in the will of Timothy MILLS, when he is describing the location of his salt meadow? They were of Long Island, NY Suffolk Co.? area. thank you Pat cw **************Start the year off right. 2. Wendy There seems to be several databases that has Thaddeus on them on rootsweb.com. Are they not the same family line of yours? Recent dates too. 2007. Possibly he was married more than once, and that might help out as well, gives more lateral background on the family. Interesting that the dates are around the time of the lead up to the War of 1812, it just might be that they could also be related to the other SMITH families who left NJ, Sussex Co, or Warren Co, and removed to Ontario, Canada. John MILLS married a Rebecca SMITH, dau of Joseph and Rachel ALFRED SMITH, along with a couple of her brothers, also are found in and around Grimsby, Ontario, Canada. Pat cw hope this might help a little. **************Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape. http://body.aol.com/fitness/winter-exercise?NCID=aolcmp00300000002489
