    3. Bill, Do you have a microfilm reader? If so, I have Hunterdon Republican microfilm Nov.12, 1890 - Dec. 26, 1900 which I will lend to you. I purchased it when I purchased the Democrat film (not sure why?). If you would like it, send your address to me at the above address. You have taken a big task and even bigger by the amount of information you are including. Only wish I had time to expand the Democrat info. I still have 12 years of film to go through to complete my goal. 3. Hi Kay, Thank you for your kind words from the living, who I hope will find much of interest in this project. Those who have passed have been encouraging me to keep going. I sometimes get the feeling that I too may have worked on these newspapers during their inception. I know that one great-great uncle and 2 great uncles did work as printer's devils on the Hunterdon Gazette and they all had careers in the newspaper and publishing business! I am hoping to get some new text pages up perhaps in the fall, but as I noted, all my time is devoted to getting the digital images from which I will type the abstracts. I'll be going to New Jersey this week to visit the kids and Gkids and will be at the Hunterdon County Historical Society, probably on May 22. 1. [NJHUNTER] Hunterdon Republican Web Site
    2. William Hartman
    3. Greetings to all on the NJHunter & NJ-Old-Newspaper lists and the persons who received Bcc copies. The beta test for the Hunterdon Republican Newspaper has been Put Up to the Internet. Initially I have had to go with a commercial hosting service since I could not get the free Web site from "RootsWeb" to work. Please go to the URL at: http://www.huntrepnews.com Add this to your Favorites! Come back monthly to check on the progress. At present, digital images of the microfilm of the newspaper are being obtained which I anticipate will be completed before the end of this year. My special thanks to the Hunterdon County Library for their more than gracious loaning of the microfilm. Since I live in Florida, there is no way I could have accumulated the images on my yearly 2-week jaunts to visit the kids and Gkids up North! The site is better viewed in MS Internet Explorer than in Mozilla Firefox. The latter changes the display somewhat, although both display all the information. My production software is Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 in case any of you want to create Web pages easily. Sorry about the complexity of finding the actual abstracts, but once you get used to the format, you should be able to breeze through the pages to find out where the actual "meat" will be found. You may email me with constructive ideas, especially about a Search Engine, I am working on the freebie from GOOGLE and if I can get it to work to my specifications, that may appear sometime later this year. I really like the Search Engine that Dennis Sutton uses on his Hunterdon Democrat Web site. It has one disadvantage in that it gives you advertisements! If you haven't used it yet, go to: http://www.njsuttonfamily.org/Newspaper/paperhistory.htm Enjoy these old newspapers as much as I have, to not only find out about your ancestors, but also to see how people lived and interacted a hundred or so years ago. Regards, Bill

    1. [NJHUNTER] ARINSON or AARONSON Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as Linda ARINSON (guessing it should be correctly spelled AARONSON) which was taken at the Fritz Studio in Lambertville, New Jersey. In addition to her name, someone has also written "Cousin L. E. A." and "cousin of Florence SEGAR" on the back of the photograph. I believe that the photograph was probably taken in the 1880's with Linda appearing to be in her teens at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following census information regarding Linda and her family: 1870 census of Mansfield Township, NJ: Henry AARONSON, age 31, a Farmer, born NJ Eleanor M. AARONSON, age 38, Keeping House, born NJ Linda AARONSON, age 5, born NJ Samuel AARONSON, age 2, born NJ 1880 census of Mansfield, NJ: Henry B. Death of Jesse Wright Morrell A man somewhat noted in his way, recently died in the Alexandria township almshouse. We have no means of knowing his age, but we think he had passed three score years and ten. Born in the township where he died, the son of a crazy woman who wandered through the northern part of the county many years ago, Jesse W. Morrell inherited an active, shattered intellect. In a fit of passion, some thirty years ago, he hit a boy an unlucky blow and killed him.... He died Tuesday, March 15, 1881. 3. Hi Marilyn and any other persons trying to help! CD orders to the Hunterdon Gazette go to the Hunterdon County Historical Society in Flemington, NJ (They also receive the money!). They then email the order to me here in Florida from whence I have mailed out over 1,000 CDs. This is the first order sent to me that had no or bad zip codes and I was only trying to expedite their receiving the CDs. I know to wait for them to holler that they did not receive same, and get a correct address! Please, don't anyone but the named individuals send me anymore suggestions for how or what to do!
