Arlene, Weehawken CEM is in North Bergen. It's non-denominational. I have a lot of people on my mother's side buried there. (at least 14 in 5 different plots) It predominately a German cemetery. BUT they don't have an index for the old burials. 'index cards' start in the 1930's that state who else is in the plot. Before that, there are only day book registers. (An entry was made in the book with death/burial information, one after the other, by date buried, not alpha. order). You find each entry that is 'yours', compare plot number listed for each, and see if they're together or separate. When I was there awhile ago, it was only a husband/wife caretaker. Don't know if burials still take place. In my family, the last were two in 1987/88. They don't do phone or mail requests. They will let you look at the books IF you go there. Warning .... it's VERY time consuming, especially if you don't know a date. (That's why they won't/can't do it.) Hope this helps, Maureen On 10/25/06, Arlene Mobley <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me.
