I grew up in JC and Union City in the early 50's and we would go "begging" at Thanksgiving and we, too, looked like hobos. We usually got fruit or nuts and would knock on doors and say, "Anything for Thanksgiving?" Also went out on Halloween night and had to be careful because the bigger kids (usually the boys) would hit us with flour socks and/or mark our coats with the big, thick pieces of chalk. They were innocent, fun days... And to Maureen, I don't know if you have your mother's yearbook, but I posted the names of the graduates some time back on the JC site. If you would like, I will be glad to rephotograph your mother's photo for you if you don't have one. Just let me know her name etc. Mary Bier Wilson Fellsmere, FL
