    3. Hi, My aunt had this poem among some old pictures and press clippings when I visited her in July 2001. She didn't know anything about it then, except that it was from St. Patrick's parish in Jersey City, and she passed away in 2002. Her father, Edward Charles Foley was certainly a bowler, and he's mentioned in the poem. As he died May 7, 1968, we can date it as earlier than that. I don't know exactly when it was published, so if you recognize it and can give me an indication of its date of publication, I would appreciate it very much. A Toast to St. Patrick's Club (Written in the style of a piece by Richards Vidmer entitled "Greetings," in the New York Herald Tribune) by Walter F. Farmer As one more year passes, let's fill a few glasses And drink to the members of St. Patrick's club, With stress on the bowlers, our tournament rollers, From highest score shooter to lowlliest sub. These friendships we treasure, and so it's a pleasure To hail a great spirit of brotherhood, and, With some rhyme and reason, to close out the season Proposing a toast to a swell little band. So here's to Frank Reilly andn sons, prized so highly, To all of our priests and Bill Doody, M.D., La Quinn, Eddie Dillon, Bus Clarke, Bill McMillon, Joe Cumings (ace club man), and "Fibber" McNee. to John (Tenor) marron and tall paul McCarron, Commissioner Gannon (Al Smith's local voice), Ted Begen, Bill Keller, and that grand old feller-- John Dolan, the Healey boys, and Harry Joyce. --- more to come on another post...
