That's not pre-Castle Garden. My great-grandfather emigrated in 1864 and I found him on the Castle Garden records. Why not try a search of the Castle Garden web site, www.Castlegarden.com. If one spelling doesn't work, try another. Also, I don't think that their web site is complete as yet. It's still under construction.
