Dear Richard, My father's family attended St. Paul's. It merged with Grace in 1971, and Grace has some of the records. I contacted them some years ago and they kindly Xeroxed pages for me. I also understand that there was a fire at St. Paul's at one time, and that some of the records were lost. My father's birth record wasn't there. I had had my father's once-beautiful baptismal certificate with Bible verses in German. I never got it restored or framed, and when I moved it was lost. BTW: About the name, St. Paul's "Evangelical" Lutheran Church. My German relative says that "Evangelische", in the old European sense, just means "Protestant", not "Evangelical" the way we use it today. I hope you have luck with Grace Church.
