I am so pleased that the 'forgotten cemeteries' are now getting some attention. About 1974 I first discovered the graves of my husband's great grandparents, John James Varick and Elizabeth Waldron Varick in Speer Cemetery. Bob has been working to get help for this cemetery for years. I live in Tallahassee, Fl but have visited Hudson County several times over the past years. Elizabeth Waldron Varick is the daughter of Benjamim Waldron and Rachel Wilmarth. Elizabeth was born in NYC and that is where she married John James Varick. They were in Jersey City by 1858 (on August 2, 1858 John James Varick purchased a plot in Speer Cemetery). Elizabeth is a descendant of Resolved Waldron (one of the original patentees of Harlem, NY). Thanks to all who volunteered to help with those cemeteries. Floreda
