Does anyone know the Conte Mack Funeral Home, formerly Otto Mack, in Jersey City? I would like to find records from this place but it looks like it's out of business. It looks like the owner retired. I want to find death information for Lillian Lathrope. I don't know when or where she died. She last appears in the 1920 Jersey City census. Her husband, Charles E. Lathrope, died 2 Oct 1941 in Jersey City. According to his obit and also his death certificate, he was widowed and was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery in West Milford NJ. There is no such cemetery in West Milford, but there is a Cedar Heights Cemetery there. A West Milford funeral parlor tells me it's a small country cemetery without formal records. I have no idea why Charles would be buried there. I have seen nothing else that connects him to that place, but that doesn't mean anything. I have to think Lillian likely is buried there if that's the right place for him. I have not been able to find Lillian's death. The state archives said they have no record of her death. Otto Mack Funeral Home handled Charles' funeral and burial but it appears to be gone. All records seem to indicate this couple lived in Jersey City for many years, but that leaves me at kind of loose ends what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Loreen Wells
