Under the law of most states, a probate case would be filed where the deceased was "domiciled." If your father lived as well as died in Hudson County, then his estate would most likely be probated in Hudson County. If the deceased owned property in another state, a separate, ancillary, case might have to be filed in that other state. The deceased's place of burial would not be relevant to where a deceased's estate was probated.
