    1. Re: [NJHUDSON] Long distance help
    2. Howdy, Since I no longer live in New Jersey, I can use a little help. My 3rd great grandmother, Jerusha Rowe, died on November 24, 1880 in Greenville, NJ. Her death certificate clearly states she was buried in the "Dutch Reformed Cemetery". Her husband Peter Rowe, followed her over 30 years later on September 24, 1913. His death certificate also says his place of burial is the "Reformed Cemetery" as does an obituary from the Jersey Journal newspaper of the day. I have always assumed that this is refering to the Refomed Cemetery on Bergen Avenue, opposite the Bergen Reformed Church. However, after over a year of making contact with that church, they were unable to find any reference to the Rowe family { understand that the so called 'church historian' denied that the death certificates stated they were buried there, despite very clear handwriting on both certificates. It is my understanding that sometime in the early 1920's, a number of graves from this cemetery were relocated to another Jersey City cemetery due to the expansion of the Boulevard that runs past the graveyard. This could explain why the church could not find any reference, although I would think initial burials would be listed. Anyhow, does anyone know which other Jersey City cemetery the graves from the Reformed Cemetery were moved to? And also, do you know an address or someone familiar with this other cemetery that might be able to research these burials for me? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer, my grandfather Peter is listed on the Jersey City website as one of the founders of the Greenville area, the family homestead was later sold to what became the Greenville Hospital { now closed} and it would be nice to find out where in Jersey City he is laid to rest> Rafer aka JonQPublix@aol.com **************Need a job?
