    3. Hi All, Where would 3765 Hudson Blvd. have been in November, 1935? Between which streets on the 1940 map? Is the building still there? If so, I would love to have a photo of the building as my mom was brought up there. I used to visit my grand-parents there in the 1940s as a child. I remember it being a 4-6 story building on the west side of the Blvd. We used to go to Schutzen Park and the nearby Sears store. We took the bus to Journal Sq. and to a park with stone buffaloes in it. Also walked over to Summit Avenue and rode the trolleys. All good memories! My parents were married in St. Josephs RC Church in Union City on Nov. 30, 1935. It that church still there? My mom also went to school at St. Josephs. TIA for any help as I cannot get up to NJ any longer. It is so hard doing research from afar. Tom O'Neill Belmont, NC toneill3@carolina.rr.com

    3. Tom, The park with the stone animals is on the northwest corner of the Blvd and Manhattan Ave in Jersey City. Still there. I remember at one point some idiot got an idea & painted the animals (maybe to cover graffetti??) Ugly!! They looked better in their natural gray color. That park is well north of the Square. I just checked an Archdiocese of Newark site http://www.rcan.org/history/parishchronolist.htm It seems that St Michael's & St Joseph's in Union City merged in 1983, don't know which one 'survived'. >From another page of the Archdiocese site, I found: SS. JOSEPH & MICHAEL 1314 Central Avenue 07087 Phone: (201) 865-2325 Masses: Saturday 4:00 p.m.(Bilingual, Bella Vista Senior Citizens), 5:30 p.m, 7:00 p.m.(Spanish); Sunday 8:30, 10:00, 10:5 a.m. (Bilingual, School Gym, September to May), 11:30 (Spanish) Sorry, can't help with your other questions, Maureen On 3/23/09, Tom O'Neill <toneill3@carolina.rr.com> wrote: > snip > I used to visit my grand-parents there in the 1940s as a child.
