    3. Hi David he may have been part of the industrial leagues that were very popular in the Twenties and Thirties. If the company he worked for had a team he may have played against some of the Bayonne teams. My grandfather played on the General Cable team. Back then the company was known as Safety Wire & Cable Co. The Leagues in Bayonne were organized by the YMCA, until they formed their own organizations. Check back issues of the local paper sports section for that time and you may find your uncle listed with his company team. > Date: Tue, 16 Jun 2009 08:20:01 -0700 > From: davidstroebel@yahoo.com > To: njhudson@rootsweb.com > Subject: [NJHUDSON] Jersey City Baseball Teams? > > > Hi list, > > Does anyone know of any baseball teams above the high school level that use to play at Washington Park from 1917-1930? > > My uncle, Raymond Stroebel played baseball and I have a picture of him in his unirorm, but sure it was not high school because he quit in his second year. > > Thanks > > Dave > > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NJHUDSON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message _________________________________________________________________ Microsoft brings you a new way to search the web.
