Looking for all families with the HOEY surname in Hudson and Essex counties. My line includes the following: James Hoey (b 1830 in Ireland, d bef 1900 in NJ).......immigrated to Newark area around 1860 from Ireland with wife Ellen McLean (b 1832 in Ireland, d 18 July 1866 in Newark, NJ) and son Charles J. Hoey (b May 1856 in Ireland, d 5 October 1885 in East Newark, NJ). James remarried after Ellen's death. He married Ann Masterson (b 1835 in Ireland) at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Newark on 4 Mar 1867. Charles married Julia A. Denn(e)y (b Nov 1858 in NJ) at St. Pius Church in Harrison, NJ in 1880.
