To all who were interested in the funeral homes in Bayonne: I finally got an answer from Fryczynski Funeral Home, who inherited the "records" from Baumuller funeral home. Unfortunately, he said the "records" (whatever he meant) were long gone but he has deeds. Again, he explained that the names on the deeds didn't necessary mean that was who was buried there. All the deed states is who purchased the plot or plots. He (the funeral director) discouraged me from even pushing further as he said they're all put away and the deeds couldn't tell me anything anyway. He was very polite but very plain in telling me he had no intention of going down a basement or where ever and search out my family's deeds. Sorry, I tried. I was rather disappointed. He told me I would have more luck in contacting the cemeteries in the area and asking them for family members.... they have books they can look up in. Obviously he never tried to do that..... If anyone finds another avenue we can explore, please share. And while I'm at it, I'm researching the Bayonne Vreelands and the Jersey City Pateys. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Joan
