Hello List, I am new to posting here, but found out some information that may be a lead into more of our family tree. My husband's great grandfather was William Bartuska. He is listed on the Census for 1920 B632 vol 53 e.d. 48 sheet 16 line 19 William Bartuska , white male, 38, Lithuanian, citizenship 1910 AL Hudson County East Newark, John Street, house 326 other members of family: Bartuska, Anna age 10 birthplace England Bartuska, Julia age 7 born New Jersey Apparently, our family was boarding with a Charles Shapalas. I believe that Julia Bartuska, their mother died the year before (1919) 3 days after a gallbladder operation??? Don't know what hospital or where she is buried. Trying to find out more on the family. Julia the 7 year old daughter listed passed away years ago and Anna is still alive, but does not have much information on her family. Wondering what really happened to Julia in 1919 and where she is buried etc. Wondering if anyone knew of the Bartuska or Stepanovich name in the area. William apparently had one or two brothers but don't know if they came to the US for sure. Maybe someone knew Charles Shapalas as well? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
