I'm sending this in hopes someone might recognize this man(he is my great grandfather) or some of his family. Joseph Bedell Johnson b. Jan 27, 1879 I obtained his date of birth from the WWI Draft registration cards (NARA located in NYC) dated Sept. 12, 1918. His address listed at that time was 11 Maple Ave, SI, New York. He is listed occupation as Quartermaster for Public Service-Port Richmond and Bergen Pt. Ferry. He listed his nearest kin as Mrs. Margaret Johnson 160A W 46st Bayonne, NJ. I obtain his parents name as Stephen Johnson and Margaret Payne from his marriage certificate. In the 1880 census in Richmond Co. he is listed under Stephen Johnson, his father, with sibilings Ella 18, Minni(?) Haines 17(step daughter), Emma 16, Nettie 10, Stephen 4. In 1923 he makes a court statement that he is a resident of Bayonne, NJ. and has been since 1902(this of course in conflict with his draft registration card, howevr I'm sure it the same person as in every case he used his middle name "Bedell". I would be interested if any one has any information on him or his family. I'm assuming that he is either a Bayonne or Port Richmond resident for most of his life. I would be very interested to find other details such as any obits, or death date, or other researcher of this same family. Regards Bill
