Joan and et al, You would think that since my first home was Kearny, and I grew up in West Hudson County, this information would be commonplace to me. It was not. I learned it recently from reading the 1924 publication "History of the Municipalities of Hudson County." Page 361 of Volume One tells us that the old Copper Mine avenue was the "back" road. From the description, I can tell you that it is now named Schuyler Avenue, and runs past the Arlington Cemetery (near the old copper mines) to Harrison Avenue. It had been called the Back Road since colonial days.
