More Obiturarys from New Jersey Miss Veronica Merz---Jan,10,1955 Miss Veronica Merz, of 8402-1st Ave.North Bergen. a sales lady in West New York store, died last night in St.Marys Hospital,Hoboken she was a native of New York City,but had resided for 20 years in North Bergen. Miss Merz was a communicant of St.John's Roman Catholic Church in Guttenberg. surviving is a sister, Mrs.Louise Bruning. Arrangements are charge of the Leber Funeral Home Union City. Mrs. Mary Preiss Jan,10,1955 Mrs.Mary Preiss 82 yrs. of 6601 Hudson Ave. West New York, N.J. or N.Y.don't know which died yesterday at her home. She was born in New York City. but had reresided for 63 yrs.in West New York surviving are a daugther and a brother. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. from the Howard J. Brennan Funeral Home, West New York. John A. Scanlon Jan,10,1955 The funeral of John Aloysius Scanlon, 244 William St. East Orange,N.J. manager of the Jewelery Division in Newark Department Store, who died Sunday in St. Anthony's Hospital,in St.Petersburg,Fla was to be held today. Mr. Scanlon was a native of Jersey City and lived here until 23 yrs. ago when he moved to East Orange. During World War 1 he was a Government Inspector in Airplane Factories along the Eastern Seaboard. Surviving are his wife the former Elizabeth Steuernagel; a daugther two brothers and three sisters. The Colonial Home,132 So. Harrison St. East Orange N.J. was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. John Parzykowski Aug,11,1942 Mrs.Helen Karczewski Parzykowski of 70 West Thirteenth Street, died yesterday at the Bayonne Hospital , she was 54 yrs. old. Born in Poland, she came to Bayonne,N.J. 40 yrs.ago. Surviving are her husband John Parzykowski; a son Henry Parzykowski;a sister,Mrs.Stephania Drozdzieski, of Jersey City;and a grand child. A soleman requiem mass will be celebrated Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery,North Arlington under the direction of Stanley Fryczynski. Mrs. Ann Heffern April,22.1940 Mrs.Helen Heffern,neeCallahan,died Saturday at the home of her Mother at 29 Lincoln Parkway born in Bayonne N.J. Mrs Heffern lived here 10 yrs. ago when she moved to Radburn.She was educated at ST.Mary's Parochial School and Bayonne High School. She is survived by her husband Adrian Heffern,her Mother, Mrs.Mary Callahan, three sisters, Mrs.Margaret Bauer,Mrs.Patrick Jennings and Miss Mae Callahan. and two brothers,Dennis Callahan and Patrolman John Callahan. Funeral services will be held tomorrow from the home of her Mother. A soleman High Mass will be sung at St.Mary's Catholic Chruch at 10'oclock. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Mrs. Helen McMahon Dies Services Tomorrow.May,12,1951 Mrs.Helen Murphy McMahon,36 yrs.old, of 35 East 5th Street, died suddenly yesterday morning at her home from a Heart Attact. She was pronounced dead at 4:15 A M. by Doctor George Dycio, of Bayonne Hospital Bayonne N.J. A member of St.Andrew's Rosary Society,Mrs.McMahon is survived by her husband Leo McMahon,two brothers Dennis and Raymond Murphy, and one sister Josephine Murphy. The Rosary Society will conduct services tomorrow night at the John P.Browne Funeral Home,at 7th Street and Broadway. The Funeral will take place from the funeral home Wednesday with Soleman High Requiem Mass at St.Andrew's Church at 10;A.M. Internment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery,North Arlington. Annie Teresa Smith Died 1893 no Mo. After a Lingering illness Miss Annie Teresa Smith the youngest daugther of Superintendent William H.Smith of Bayonne and Greenville Gaslight Company, died early on Monday morning from Diabetes at her home No.266 Ave.C. Miss Smith was a charming young women with a host of friends and was in her 19th year. She was identified with the young people's soieties connected with the First Reformed Church. Her funeral took place on Tuesday evening from the home of her parents. The internment was made yesterday morning in the Moravian Cemetery at New Dorp,Staten Island.
