    3. Having posted what I found out was a hoax message on paying for email, I'm almost afraid to ask a genuine question. I am looking for John Dammann who, I think lived in No. Bergen. At least, he was sworn in as a citizen in 1856 at the No. Bergan Court House. I had what I thought was a cemetery card for him and his wife in The Evergreens in Brooklyn. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the John who was buried there in 1879 was a baby and the NYC Archives couldn't find a death certificate for S. Dammann, who I thought was his wife Sophie. I know that he died when my grandfather was a child and Sophy married again to an abusive husband. My grandfather ran away from home after that. Not enough info to ask for a DC. I've written to The Evergreens twice and the woman has been very helpful but they don't seem to have much information, either. Marion Markham Does anyone have an idea about where I go from here.
