I am new to Hudson County list. I have discovered arrangeOnline also. It can be used to search for maiden names as well as surnames. A big help on the female side.
Just don't use it for dates ...... month and year may be fine, but if it says Dec. 1 or June 1 or Jan. 1 watch out! They're just copied from the Social Security Death Index, which also has a lot of mistakes. But where SSDI didn't have the day (most of the time), The Funeral Directors made it the first day of the month .... quite outrageous, if you ask me .... deliberately misleading us and spreading information they know to be absolutely false! And then each time something is transcribed again, more mistakes inadvertently occur. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dee Leviner" <jleviner@InfoAve.Net> To: <NJHUDSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 29, 2001 7:11 AM Subject: [NJHUDSON-L] ArrangeOnline > I am new to Hudson County list.
