Not quite, A default data isn't entered. The correct date is entered and stored eg. May 1890. It is when this data is returned to lets say the web browser, that something like this will occur Display Date (Format "dd/mm/yyyy") and this is where, or possibly where, the source of error occurs. So they may actually have correct data (lets hope so). If they have taken their data from another source that had this error, then they may have copied the error also :-( It's something that can slip through far too easily. I definately think that a few emails should be written to them to point out that some dates being returned have errors. As you say, be wary if there is a 01/mm/yyyy date.
