Hi all, I recently learned that much of the information can now be obtained from the town Health Dept -- as far as births anyway -- I believe that as of a certain year the information was given to the localites to handle -- probably the more recent -- I'll have to check as to what year onward this is in the towns themselves and get back to you with the information. But I've obtained my family info from the Hudson County office -- not the State. Easy for me because I'm still in NJ and drove to Jersey City which is much closer to me than the State archives.
