    3. Susan, I've noticed that those Directories (like phone books) mostly have years stated as 1892/1893, etc. They may have been published in an inexact manner as far as dates. That might account for the missing entry, for example you looked in a 1892/1893 the first time and in a 1893/1894 the second. The Jersey City Library has a pretty complete collection, I was there a few weeks ago. 2. Greetings! I know this has been addressed pretty recently, but at the time the subject was not of great importance to me. Now I find it very important! I have a copy of the "STATEMENT AND WAIVER OF FORMAL ACCOUNTING" for the probating of my GGGrandfather's estate. I would like to locate the will now but do not have the address to where I need to request this info. Would some kind soul pass the info along to me and I promise to make note of it and keep it for future reference this time!!! Thanks in advance. Lois

    3. HI Everybody, I have a puzzle I need help with. I found an entry on Ancestry for the 1889-1890 Jersey City Directory that may be my guy. So I went to the Morristown Library yesterday to get the copy for myself. Lo and behold, it wasn't in the directory they have there on microfilm! Was there more than one directory for Jersey City in that year and if so, where would I find the other one? If not, what do I do now? Any suggestions appreciated. Susan

    3. I think that during this period of time, there was some serious commuting across the Hudson. We have families that were back and forth regularly - less to move in those days, I guess. In any event - try to include the names you are researching in your queries - never lose a chance to advertise..... 3. Thanks! Yes, I found one on the 1860 census, but the copy was so bad I could not make out the address. The microfilm quality of that page is absolutely terrible! However, I do know the ward number (NYC is such a horribly big place), so I will work from there. Thanks, I will post any "tricks" I find on this roots web page! 3. You are in luck. The records of Holy Family in Union City have been microfilmed and the films can be rented from the Family History Center near you. The records are from 1857 - 1986 and include baptisms, marriages, deaths, Confirmations and Communions. The records are on two rolls of film 1468652 and 1468653. Regards, Gloria M. They should be enumerated in at least the 1855/65 NY State Census and/or the 1860 US Federal Census for NY.
