    3. Would Union City be listed in the 1920 census for Jersey City as Union Town? If so does anyone know what ward the area around Emerson high school would be in? 1. [NJHUDSON-L] Civil War vet
    2. Ray Horton
    3. My Great Grandfather was Harry E. Horton. I know nothing much about him. He and my great grandmother Mignonnette (Nettie) Peacock Horton had my grandfather in 1881 in Jersey City, after which he disappeared. Nettie and parents had moved to Jersey City from western Tennessee in 1871. Family tradition was that Harry fought in the civil war. I checked Ancestry.com and got three possibilities. 1)A Harry Horton listed in NJ 1890 Veterans Schedules. 2)Only 2 Harry Hortons listed in American Civil War soldiers. One has different middle initial. The other was with 11th Minnesota Infantry. 3)A Harry Horton on Civil War pension rolls, filed in Tenn. (a Tenn. tie in could make sense). I downloaded the image of the document from Ancestry.com. Hard to read. Looks like unit listed as E 4 Tenn. Infantry. Can't find any unit with that designation. How can I find out if the Harry Horton in 1 is the same person as in 2 or 3 above? Any help appreciated. 1. [NJHUDSON-L] Obit
    2. Hello, Can anyone help me find an obit? I understood the Kearny Public Library had copies of the local newspaper and wrote them three times, but never heard from them. This is for John McGlinchey, he died November 12, 1957, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Sweeney. They both lived in Kearny. He was 90 years old. Thank you. Barbara in Oregon

    3. Chris offered to do look-ups from a film she had rented for a week. She was overwhelmed with requests. If you look at the subject line, you will see the name of the family she looked up. In the message are what she found. (It took me a while to understand, too, until I came to my family name. Unfortunately, none of them were mine.) I understand it is confusing for those who didn't ask for a lookup but her husband had what they thought was a heart attack and so, instead of responding to each of us individually, she posted to the list, which was easier for her.
