Is there any way to get ahold of cemetery records from Holy Name Cemetery without going there or writing? I live in ME so its not like I could stop in to do research without some major trip planning. I need to browse to find what I am looking for- my specific questions are too vague. Does LDS have a film for the records of this cemetery? I am looking for any Larkins or Brennans who may be buried there, especially ANN/ANNA/ANNE BRENNAN. I have other questions as well, if anyone can answer them. Is this the cemetery that parishioners of Our Lady of Grace in Hoboken would have used? Are there any other Catholic cemeteries in the area? Does anyone know of a St. Michaels Church in Hoboken or West Hoboken (I saw an obscure reference about a marriage that may have taken place there; it was hard to read). I would appreciate any help or direction. Thanks! Would someone be so kind as to tell me where their Farrells from Ireland emigrated to in the 1840s and 1850s in New Jersey. I am looking for a pattern that shows Irish Farrells coming to Newark, NJ or to Jersey City, NJ. I would like to know what counties these Irish Farrells who settled in NJ were from.
Looking for the parents of Jane and any other info connected "Jacob S. Woolever" married 2 April 1924 to "Jane Stage" He is listed as 50 (ummm .. I guess he lied), son of "Abram" and "Cathrine Major" ... born in Buttsville (this must be Buttzville, a small town in Warren Co.) ... listed as his 3rd marriage (his marriage to Alma in 1914 also said third) ... at the time of the marriage he was living in NYC, married in Hoboken. I have just recently learned from a genealogist that when Irish families and their relatives emigrated to America, they almost always went to the cities where they had relatives already. Can anyone tell me as far as the name Farrell is concerned, if there were emigrants from Ireland to Newark, NJ, what county (or counties) did they live in in Ireland before migrating to the US? Many of my Farrells came to NYC and then eventually settled in Jersey City, NJ or Newark, NJ. Judy In NC
Could the person who emailed me about Knobloch in Jersey city please email me in private. I have some info for you. Thanks Lucie Vaccaro-Bailey hondolu@texas.net

Received the following from Todd Ginder trgejg@msn.com If anyone has any suggestions I'm sure that he would appreciate them. I am trying to learn more of my grandmother's family history in Hoboken around 1917. I know that her family name was Meyer. Father, Wesley, brothers Wesley and George (he may have died at an early age?) and sister Claudia. (perhaps there were others, I can't be sure) My grandmother's mother (E. Ehrenfeld (sp?)) died very young and my grandmother and perhaps some or all siblings were put up for adoption. I am just trying to find out what happened to the rest of her family, as well as locate some documents; marriage license, death certificates etc. If you have any info. that would be helpful to me in my search, I would apprectiate it!
It looks like the fictitious Family Discovery genealogy service has moved to Prodigy now. I contacted Prodigy this morning and they have asked that anyone who receives solicitation email from familydiscovery.com take the following steps immediately: 1) Forward the entire Family Discovery message (including headers) to: abuse@abuse.prodigy.com 2) Include the following information (most of which was provided by Rita from the Oconto County, WI list): Please note that the attached message is now being sent through your ISP service. They have been reported to various State Attorney General's Office on computer fraud, but it is hard to catch up with them. Originally the "company" linked to free information sites and placed the pages in "frames" so that it looked like it was their own work. Customers paid for that information. The scam, now, is paying for the free information links and then they "move" frequently and leave their paid-up customers without services. 3) Post these same instructions on any other lists today so that Prodigy has a better chance of finding the spammers. -- Linda Emerson Coordinator - Union Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania http://www.rootsweb.com/~paerie/townships/Union.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: <NJHUDSON-D-request@rootsweb.com> To: <NJHUDSON-D@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2001 2:00 AM Subject: NJHUDSON-D Digest V01 #67

George, check your dates. Someone who was in NYC in 1880 couldn't have died in 1871. My grandfather played first string violin in both these symphonies. Is there any place other than newspaper articles to find information about these groups? I'm interested in the time period of the 1920's, I believe. thx Marcelle
