I was just wondering about the NJ censuses myself, hoping that some group was taking up indexing them, maybe even Ancestry.com scanning them online. I remember manually finding people in the federal census year after year and now they are all indexed and online. I was hoping to avoid this with the NJ state census. Not possible for now. -Jodie
They are not on line nor indexed. I have a marriage record from 1905. The ministers address is 38 W 44th st. Does anyone know of a church nearby? Mike
Dear List, The O'Brien family lived 181 7th St. When John O'Brien died in 1903 his widow Ellen moved to 122 Erie St., this address is on the corner of Erie and 7th St. To look up Ellen O'Brien in the 1905 Census what information would I need. I don't know what Ward this would be. Marge

I know my grandparents, William Ritter and Sarah Ulysses, were born in NJ, but I do not know the county. They migrated to Middletown, OH about 1885 to work at P. Lorillard Tobacco Co. Since I'm at a brick wall, my thoughts are that perhaps they came from Hudson County where P. Lorillard originated in Jersey City. I'm asking for help from anyone on the list to check any genealogy records they may have that might help with my research. Thanks in advance! Jack in Middletown
My 2nd great grandfather's death certificate from 1912 says he was buried at the "Reformed Cemetery" which I have always assumed was the Old Bergen Reformed Church which has a large cemetery. However, he lived in the Greenville section of Jersey City, and recently I have learned of a "Greenville Reformed Church". Does anyone know if this church still exists or is there any graveyard associated with it? Thanks! JonQ

I'm trying to establish what RC church a family in the 1860 census attended. The 1860 census pages don't show the street. Ancestry.com doesn't give boundaries for this year. Does anyone know where I could find them? Mike
I recently received some death certificates on my relatives and I am trying to figure out what the cause of death meant. (1)my great-grandmother died in 1913 of "Hemiplegia" at age 52 and the definition that I found online was: stroke, paralysis of one side of body (2) my great great grandmother died in 1894 of "Apoplexy" at age 53 and the definition that I found online was: stroke, paralysis due to stroke So is there a place to look up causes of death from 100 years ago to see what it really meant, so I can determine what the died of?? And did women back then in their early 50's really died from Stroke? Isnt that kind of odd? Let me know what you think. Thanks, Linda Bradshaw Indpls
I found a German Baptism record of a relative and I cannot determine what the Church is. It looks like the address is 179 Woodward Steet. This was in 1903. thanks Linda Bradshaw Indpls

Would someone with access to the 1920 look for a Catherine Ryan, widow in her 70's. In 1910 a Catherine was living at 200 Hancock Ave, with sons Thomas 30 and Matthew 25. Not sure she is mine. In 1923 mine was living at 24 Colden St. Thanks for any assistance. Dolores
Hi List, I do not live in JC , moved out 1960's-- plus I am not near a Family History Center. I have a cousin who lives in JC, he offered to go to a Family History Center for me. I see there is one in Union City, is that the closest one. Are there others in that general area. Thanks for your help. Marge
During WWII my uncle wrote to a lady named OLGA KUNTZ. Olga was from Elizabeth, New Jersey. Has anyone ever heard of Olga? I am hoping that I can make the connection to my New Jersey family through her. Thanks in advance. Marie
