My Driscolls lived at 121 Magnolia Ave. from 1920 up until 1944 and perhaps after. A brother James could be the one living on Washburn but I don't know anything about him. Lost track of him in the 1890's on Henderson. Hi Helen, ..Any chance your street was anywhere near Pacific St and did you know any Careys on Pacific if so ????? MaryPat
Would someone with access to the 1930 please look up a James Driscoll other than the one at 121 Magnolia Ave. A James P. and a James A. are listed in the 1925 City Directory both Fireman living at 121 Magnolia but only one at that address in the 1930. It may be just a mstake in the Directory or it could be the James over 70 that I have been looking for. Thanks for any assistance. Dolores
Hello Dolores While I was on the track for Jersey City, I came across the following website. _http://www.njarchives.org/links/newspaper_ (http://www.njarchives.org/links/newspaper) The counties are alphabetized and you can scroll down to Hudson County. It tells you of the newspapers in each county. I remember the Jersey Observer and the Jersey Journal. This may be a good place to check out for both news and obit's, for your Driscoll's. Helen G.
When I was a kid living on Washburn St., a Driscoll family lived there. I believe that the father was a fireman. There were two son's who I believe became either policemen or firemen. There was also a Daughter, they called Sis. This was in the late 30's & early forties. Mrs. Driscoll was a very lovely woman, who at Hallowe'en always had Candy for us kid's and welcomed us. I think the number could have been about 39 Washburn St. between Baldwin and Palisade Avenues. A half block away from Dickinson High School. I'm inclined to think that these are your Driscoll's, I hope so. Helen G.

I tried but the best I can come up with is West Long Branch Cemetery in Monmouth County maybe the name was changed. To the list I am searching for the address/phone number of Old Long Branch Cemetery. I dont know what county its in. Does anyone know of this cemetery? Mary Live Well ` Laugh Often ` Love Much
It was the cemetery that gave me his date of death and I know who he is buried with. A second inquiry to the cemetery received no reply. I would like to learn his address. They charge $10 a name for each buried in the plot and I have that information already so no need to throw money away. We all know it use to be easyier and cheaper to send for records. Last year when I was working in Pa. research they kept sending my requests back for one reason or another. Sometimes they would only release it to blood relatives and at this stage of the game I am so far off the blood line. Did have to make a copy of my driving license and have it enlarged. Haven't sent for any in NJ in 20 yrs but didn't want to get involved. So I am looking for the easy way. Bye for now.
