Phyllis, Thanks for the reply. I don't have too much on the Hose family. My ggrandmother was Louisa Hose,b.1845 (England),d.1917 in NJ. She married John Wortle Brooks, a shoemaker in England, and moved to Lynn, Mass., then to southern NJ (Elmer and Camden). Her father was Edward Hose, b.abt.1820, d.unk. I would love to find out more. A lookup volunteer from the LEI group found some Hoses in the 1851 census. It lists an Edward Chas. Hose and wife Sarah Ann but no mention of Louisa who would be age 6 by then (Leicester). Maybe it's the wrong Edward. Let me know if you show any other info or suggestions. Thanks so much. Joan in NJ
