I'm submitting some updated info on my ggrandfather in the hopes it will lead to more info about his parents names. I've recently spoken to a 90 yr. old relative who remembered some family middle names. He thinks all of the middle names of these Scudders were from relatives. Do these sound familiar to anyone out there? My Frank Scudder, b abt. 1855-60 was really named Francis Asbury Scudder (there was a Bishop Francis Asbury who brought Methodism to the Bridgeton area in late 1700s). The Scudders lived in Fairton, NJ, south of Bridgeton, but not sure where his parents started out. He married Augusta Stevens Eichele,b 1860, who spoke German. Their children were Anna Budd Scudder b.abt 1881,m. Rufus Davis of Bridgeton area; Lillian Stevens Scudder,b.1883.m.Charles French Lacy; and William Corson Scudder,b.1885 m.Clara Glass. They later lived in Camden, NJ and owned a cigar store. Supposedly, the Budd family had a lumber or millwork business that was aligned with some of the Scudders. Does this sound like a connection to anyone out there? Would love to hear from you. Joan in NJ
