Have you tried the Family History Library Catalog? When I did a surname search there were 26 "hits" on the MATLACK name. One of the most promising was: Matlack Family Bible Records, 1737-1917; in the description, William MATLACK, immigrant from Ireland is mentioned, along with a grandson named Joseph MATLACK. This is on FHLC #1005024 it.3. In doing a film number search, it appears that this film is a compilation of A LOT of Family Bibles (abt 191!) in several items (but not 191 items). There are MATLACK records in the first three items at least (then my computer "perfomed an illegal action" and shut down the internet server!). I haven't looked at T. Chalkley MATLACK's records on the MATLACK surname, but he did write an extensive genealogy on the THORN/THORNE surname that I have found to be very reliable. (His "notes" are on FHLC #0555742-0555744, with an index on the first film.) Hope this is of some help. Pat B
