Seeking FITHIAN, Charles, Philly, Pa abt 1840 Old Salem, N.J. boy. ICQ #6835149 Waifs of the rail In the past few years, great interest has been shown in the subject of Orphan Train Riders. There are an estimated 2 million descendants of children sent io 47 states between the years 1854 and 1929. A child sent to South Carolina, adopted and given a different name, could have been an Orphan Train Rider. I rode an Orphan Train in 1917 at the age of 5. I was sent from the New York Children's Aid Society to a small town in Iowa, where I was adopted and given a good home by a fine couple who lived on a farm. I now Live in South Carolina. I have a good bit of information on the subject. I would like to share it with anyone interested in the subject or in the descendants of the Orphan Train Riders. I may be contacted at 1180 Haywood Road, Apt. 240, Greenville, SC 29615. Dorothy Urch --part1_0.8eac4ec2.253f3af9_boundary--
