Malcolm, Thanks for the update on Evergreen Cem. I, too, have ggrandparents and g-aunts and g-uncles buried there, but felt totally "creeped" out when I saw it after I begged my husband to find the cemetery in the spring. What was once lovely wrought iron fencing around the site sits partially missing or fallen down. There are beautiful monuments inside that are too neglected and I definitely need time to think about a visit inside. The neighborhood is definitely not as our ancestors left it! I might try a trip inside if my husband accompanies me again. Unfortunately, even though I have the plot and section numbers, I don't know if the plot corners have any numbered markers or letters on them as in some cemeteries. Also, the main driveway in off the busy street is not blocked with a gate so that anyone can just drive in there. Apparently, homeless people and street people strung out on drugs +/or booze are using parts of the cemetery because no one monitors it and I'm not sure if the police even bother with them. Poor Camden has terrible infrastructure and financial problems. Has anyone ventured in there lately? How was it? Thanks again Malcolm, Joan Lacy Fitzsimmons in NJ
