Yes, Edward Bates Gardner was the son of Joseph Gardner and Caroline Carr(marr. in 1834). And Joseph is as far back as I go on that one. If you ever do find the connection, I have a long line after Joseph. Your Joseph, born June 11, 1810 couldn't be the same Joseph Gardner? I've never heard of it all being Burlington Co at one point, but Gloucester and Camden Counties moved their lines many times. My Gardners (the ones I know at least) are mostly in Camden County, which would be closer to Burlington Co. I don't think the specific counties mean much when we're talking about way back in the 1800s. This was all farmland back then. The people were quite spread out, but most seem to have been interrelated in some way or other. I think I will jump up and down and dance if I ever find out who truly were the parents of Katherine Firth. I have my suspicions, and I know from my parents that the Gardners were our cousins, but I just can't prove it and my parents aren't around to ask anymore.
